Introduction

Bonita (Bonnie) Para, MS is a Mediator and founding/managing partner of Para & Associates and Eldercare Mediation, LLC in Florida. Ms. Para is a Florida Supreme Court Family Mediator and a Licensed Mediator of Claims for the Florida Department of Financial Services.  Ms. Para holds a Master of Science degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University.

Her experience gives her a full underst
anding of the challenges faced by individuals, businesses, organizations and municipalities. 

Areas of Practice

Ms. Para works to facilitate change and resolve conflicts related to:

  • Interpersonal dispute
  • Couple's conflict and issues related to divorce  
  • Workplace dispute, including charges of sexual harassment and discrimination, workplace work groups
  •  Large groups including religious congregations, homeowner associations, sports clubs, boards of directors 
  •  Insurance claims 
  •  Other highly charged issues affecting individuals, businesses, organizations and municipalities

Ms. Para provides mediation services for the elderly and their families experiencing conflict related to guardianship, inheritance, living arrangements caregiver issues, medical decisions, family communication and strained family relationships caused by elder care issues. Training Experience

During her career, Ms. Para has trained attorneys, mental health providers and other professionals in foundational and advanced mediation skills. She has also provided certification training for mediators in Washington State where she had a private practice before moving to Florida in 2010. In addition, she has taught mediation as a college instructor, presented conflict resolution training classes to the community, taught workshops at professional conferences, and written curriculum approved by the Florida Bar Association, Florida Department of Health and the Washington State Bar Association for Continuing Legal Education.
